Angel Olsen - Golden voiced singer/songwriter from Chicago, Illinois. She has two releases out on the cassette tape format, both (as of now, 10/10/10) still available. An EP of originals called "Strange Cacti" on Bathetic Records and an EP of cover tunes (from the likes of Dolly Parton and Skeeter Davis!) called "Lady of the Water Park" on Love Lion.

Shannon and the Clams - Arguably the best of all of the 60's throwback garage rock bands. Shannon and her clams call Oakland, California home. Their brilliant recordings are readily available on several formats (cassette, cd, vinyl) via 1-2-3-4-GO! Records, so 1-2-3-4-GO get them!

Ash Pool - Big Bang Black Metal from NYC. Dominic Fernow of Prurient fame on guitars and vocals and Kris Lapke of Alberich fame on drums and vocals. Definitely the best USBM band around in my humble opinion. Check out the Hospital Productions storefront in NYC or online at hospitalproductions.net

Pigeon Religion - Like fucking yourself with your own dick. Arizona's finest examples of weirdness since the Sun City Girls. Total scumbags. Try to find their recordings… I dare you.
